Please include placed graphics and photographs on your disk or compressed file. Please make sure that all Photoshop files are layered. Do not flatten. Do not embed artwork/scans. Resolution should be a minimum of 300 dpi at final size.
Supply the screen and printer fonts used in the document. Try to avoid True-Type(TT) fonts if possible.
For specific type effects we recommend using Adobe Illustrator. For fonts with special restrictions (licensed), You can turn the font into a path or outline. Please remember, however, that once fonts have converted to outlines edits to the verbiage are not possible, it’s always a good idea to make a duplicate file first before outlining – this allows you to retain the original and editable file.
Minimum Line Weight, Minimum Dot and Gradients:
Line weights less than 0.5 point will often not print well. For all gradient and four color process work the minimum dot is 1%. A gradient fading to zero will often form a hard line at the edge of the last dots. Setting the minimum dot correctly is critical for artwork.
Gray vs. 4 Color:
Drop shadows print better if they are black only rather than 4 color and when set to multiply or overprint. Grays that are a screen percentage of black are often better than a 4 color process gray.
Maintain 1/16″ margin from all die-line/folds for all art. When necessary, provide a minimum of 1/16″ bleed, 1/8″ bleed is preferred. Click here to see a representation of the die-line, print tolerance and bleed.
